About Kate

Kate Sky Dancer is a sacred dance artist who has dedicated most of her life to Dance. She has had a deep life long love of dance. Her first dance training began at age nine with lessons in ballet and traditional dance forms. She began performing early in her dance journey, and this was a catalyst for her deepening and her commitment to dance.

At age 16, she successfully auditioned for and began training at the Central School of Ballet in London

towards her full time professional dancers Diploma course. At the Central School of Ballet in London, Kate received extensive training in ballet, contemporary dance, choreography, jazz dance, character drama and performance.

She has received a wealth of training and dance from inspirational dance artists and teachers of the Royal Ballet, northern Ballet Theater, the Rampart Dance Company and Kira ballet.

At the age of 18, she won a scholarship to attend the Martha Graham Summer Intensive in New York.

Kate felt a strong clarity towards the end of her training that her pathway with dance needed to have a more soul and spiritual, spiritually aligned intention that perhaps would not be found in the more classical entertainment fields of dance. She then began studying and exploring the modality of yoga and holistic health and healing. She went on to receive her yoga teacher certification and a training and massage, the threads of dance and spirituality began to slowly merge and weave together.

In her mid 20s, she co created the "Spirita Creativa" with an incredible musician, singer and composer, Sarah Jo Martin. Spirita Creativa was a performance duo of classical dance and musicals, with many original compositions and choreography.

This body of work, although largely classical, had a strong spiritual pulse, and this creative collaboration between Sarah and Kate was founded upon this aligned intention of raising the vibration through music and dance.

Since having the blessing of becoming a mama, a new thread also began to weave into this work for Kate, that of the sacred feminine and the womb.

A series of sacred synchronicities led Kate to make several very soul aligned connections with other female dance artists that shared a similar vision and thread to dance. One sister, Akara Heart is a beautiful dancer that Kate has deeply connected with on many performance pieces and gifted Kate a platform also to perform with a group of sisters and also as a solo artist, we have performed at many big conscious festivals in the UK and Europe, continuing to delight audiences with our inspiring dances as we shared our love of sacred movement.

Aluna Dance Temple formed in 2021 deeply inspired by the return and remembrance of the sacred feminine arts and mysteries.

Aluna is a Kogi word meaning her blood is gold, which is believed to mean that we are all here to honor Mother Earth, to honor the feminine and the primordial womb and her life giving blood, as it is and as if it were gold.

The Aluna Dance Temple began by offering dance journeys for women at every turn of the Celtic Wheel. Many of these journeys are dedicated to the Womb Portal.

In 2024 Kate was invited by Deb Stanley of Deva Pathways, shamanic womb apprenticeship training to come on board as an apprentice and also hold the weekly Shakti Meditation Moves online for her circle of women.

This has been a deep initiation, gifting Kate with much guidance and support to find her voice and confidence to hold the sacred space, both in dance and through her online offerings, she has learned many invaluable wisdoms from this experience and also from her womb apprenticeship training with Deb, and now she is at the point where she can share this womb healing wisdom with others thru the offerings in her Aluna Womb Temple.

Some of Kates most recent performance offerings include:

May 2024: a live dance performance and solo group dance with Mara Stark in Bristol

August, 2024: a live dance performance for Medicine Woman Gathering, performing with Lua Maria to her beautiful "womb song" at the Medicine Woman Gathering in the UK.

November, 2024, Aluna Dance Temple performed a Samhain ritual dance prayerformance at the ACE collective, in Glastonbury

All of Kate's work is originally choreographed by herself or co -created with other dancers that she's working with collaboratively.

She calls her work. ~the dance craft~

Kate currently resides with her family in Avalon, which is Glastonbury, England,

where she holds regular Sacred Dance Temple Journeys for women, Womb Work, & Womb Healing sessions, and shares her dance through Prayer performances.

And soon she we'll be starting a special offering called the "Aluna Prayerformance Collective."

"The gods have meant that I should dance, and in some mystic hour,

I shall move to unheard rhythms

of the cosmic orchestra of heaven,

and you will know the language

of my wordless poems

and will come to me for this is why I Dance."

- Martha Graham
